On February 4th, the doors of our new Tallinn office opened to the local tech community for a very special occasion: our first-ever external tech event, hosted in partnership with DevClub.ee.
The evening was more than just a meetup; it was a milestone for Wallester. As a rapidly growing fintech, we are committed to not only building world-class financial infrastructure but also fostering an environment where engineering excellence is shared and celebrated.
Insights from the Stage
We were thrilled to welcome two industry experts who dived deep into the complexities of modern engineering:
- Oluwafemi Shobande (Senior Software Engineer at Bolt) took us through the high-stakes world of scalable systems, sharing practical insights on how to navigate real-world engineering hurdles when operating at a massive scale.
- Andrei Gornostajev (CTO at Wallester) gave a leadership-focused perspective on the evolution of fintech systems, discussing what it takes to build and grow robust financial technology from the ground up.
Behind the Scenes at Wallester
The event also served as an open house. Guests were given a tour of our new workspace, including an inside look at our IT area. With the office buzzing from 18:00 to 22:00, it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our culture and the environment where our team builds the future of payments.
What is DevClub?
For those unfamiliar, DevClub is a staple of the Estonian tech scene. It is a community-driven initiative that brings together developers, architects, and tech enthusiasts to share technical knowledge. We’ve long admired their mission, and it was an honor to finally bring that energy into our own office.
The Road Ahead
This event marks the beginning of a new chapter for us. At Wallester, our ambition is to become not only a central hub for tech talent in Tallinn, but a destination for networking across the entire spectrum of business activities. Hosting DevClub was the first of many steps; we plan to host more workshops, seminars, and networking events to support the local ecosystem and meet the bright minds driving the industry forward.
